Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State has condemned the killing of two dam construction workers and abduction of two Chinese Nationals while on duty by bandits despite security presence.
The Governor noted that the attack might cause some setbacks on the Zungeru Dam Project which has attained 95 percent completion.
“The incident really disturbed my heart as I heard about the attack. It is even more worrisome to know that lives of the workers were involved. This action might negatively affect the completion of the Zungeru dam which is of great significance to the country,” Sani Bello said.
He condoled the families of the workers who lost their lives during the attack, saying: “My heart goes out to the families of the workers that were killed and those that were injured, I pray that Allah will grant them quick recovery.”
The Chief Security Officer of Niger State charged security agencies to ensure quick release of the abducted Chinese nationals.
Already, the Police/Military Tactical Team has been mobilized to launch an aggressive search of the abducted workers
