Two suspected motorcycle thieves have been apprehended by alert residents of Fadikpe area in Chanchaga Local Government Area of Niger State.
Luck ran out of the suspects, namely Aliyu and Muhammad Sani, who boarded a commercial motorcycle from Fadikpe to Shanu area after agreeing a fee with the rider, Muhammad Sekiwa.
However, on their way to Shanu community, the suspects brought out a hammer and hit it hard on Sekiwa’s head in an attempt to take away his motorcycle.
Sekiwa’s shout for help attracted nearby people who rushed to the scene and apprehended the suspects.
The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon, January 2, 2022.
The victim, a father of two, was rushed to a health facility in Minna, Niger State capital, and is receiving medical attention.
The Police are investigating the case after the suspects were handed over to them by the local vigilante group.
