By PAMELA EBOH, Awka
Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, and court-disqualified candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the November 6 Anambra governorship election, Senator Andy Uba,were the cynosure today, Thursday, December 30, 2021, when they landed presidential and private jets at the Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport, Umueri.
Ngige attracted the bigger attention as he landed in a Nigerian Presidential Jet – the first to ever land at the newly built and commissioned airport.
The presidential jet arrived at exactly 12:25 p.m.
On hand to receive Ngige was the man whose ministry delivered the airport to Ndi Anambra in 15 months – the State Commissioner for Works, Engineer Marcel Ifejiofor, alongside others.
Uba had arrived a little over an hour earlier. It was the first time the former presidential aide and lawmaker who was accused of sabotaging the commissioning of the airport in early November would be using the airport.
According to a source at the airport who spoke with News Express, “At exactly 11:12 a.m. today, the candidate of APC in the just-concluded Anambra governorship election, Sen. Andy Uba, aboard a private jet, 5N-ALG, arrived the newly commissioned Anambra International Airport Nteje-Umueri.
“He was accompanied by Amb. Jerry Ugokwe, Chief John Emeka, Hon. Carter Umeh, among others.”
