Yvonne Jegede and Olu Jacobs
Actress, film producer and model, Yvonne Jegede has wept for veteran actor and film executive Oludotun Baiyewu Jacobs, known professionally as Olu Jacobs over his present health condition.
After the actor’s wife of 32 years, star actress Joke Silva, had disclosed in a recent television interview that her husband has been battling with Dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) for a couple of years now, Yvonne went back on Monday to watch the video when the actor was presented with Lifetime Achievement Award at the recently held Africa International Film Festival Awards (AIFFA).
The 38 years old Agenebode, Edo State-born actress who rose to prominence after she made a cameo appearance in the music video “African Queen” by 2Face Idibia, was hit by the pitiable image and behaviour of Olu Jacobs in the awards video.
She burst out in tears:
“I watched this video in tears in my eyes. I want to give him his flowers while I still can. Uncle Olu Jacobs, thank you for blessing us with your talents, for paving the way for me. I honour you and appreciate you for the immense contribution you have made to Nollywood. Thank you sir.”
