A new political movement formed by some Nigerian professionals in Diaspora, Hope 2023, has emerged.
The leader of the group, Dr Philip Idaewor said on Sunday in a chat with News Express that Hope 2023 is a political campaign movement being engineered to project all like minded Nigerian patriots into political offices in Nigeria.
"At the heart of what we believe in is the political restructuring of Nigeria and a renewed focus on investing in the Nigerian people through the rebuilding of Nigeria's public education and health care sectors.
"These are core and fundermental elements required for the resolution of numerous other challenges facing our country.
"This is a movement in progress and I say, it is time for patriots and nationalists to redefine a new strategic political direction for our countr," said Idaewor.
Speaking further, Idaewor said Hope 2023 is to work as a collective in the pursuit of its goals. For example, the movement is opposed strongly to the "cult of personality politics" presently on display in Nigeria, from the village level to national level, adding that no country can discover and unleash her strongest leadership asset in such dominant culture.
Dr. Idaewor is a UK-based medical practitioner with specialization in histopathology/Cellular Pathology and a strong interest in community service. He enjoys clinical/academic research and works collaboratively with scientists and clinicians, with several publications to show for it.
