Veteran actor and his actress wife, Joke Silva
Veteran actress, Joke Silva has expressed gratitude to organisers of Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF), for the award bestowed upon her equally veteran actor, Oludotun Baiyewu Jacobs, professionally known as Olu Jacobs.
The 80 years old legendary actor was awarded the Life Time Achievement Award for his contribution to the Nigerian movie industry at the event held over the weekend in Lagos.
Olu Jacobs who has been hailed by many as one of the greatest and most widely respected African actors of his generation made a public appearance at the AFRIFF Globe Awards 2021 amid death rumours.
Gracing the event, the actor who has distinguished himself as a godfather in Nollywood was accompanied by his wife, Joke Silva.
Joke later poured post-event encomiums on the organisers as well as expressed her appreciation thus:
“Still reveling in the @afriff awards night. Thank you @realchiomaude founder and festival director of AFRIFF (Africa International Film Festival). Can’t believe AFRIFF had its tenth edition. Thank you for all you have done and you do for this industry.”
