The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has condemned the recent killing of two traditional rulers and some other people in Okwudo, Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State.

The group claimed that the two traditional rulers met their death for flouting Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma’s warning that traditional rulers in the state should not hold meeting of any kind in the state.

A statement on Thursday by IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Emma Powerful, said: "Hope Uzodima has been using military to eliminate our innocent youths claiming he is killing IPOB members.

“Gov. Hope Uzodima created fake ESN to kill those people who are not support of killings and slaughtering going on in Imo State since the beginning of this year.

“It is quite appalling that the supposedly governor of Imo State would create a group of hoodlums to murder his citizens.

“IPOB is calling elders, religious leaders, women group and business men and women in the state of imo to come out stop this vampire Fulani plant to fulfil their hatchet job for them.

“Every Imo State sons and daughters, daughters and students to out to stop Uzodinma before he finishes everybody in Imo State, Hope Uzodinma stopped traditional rulers to gather for any meeting or they will have themselves to blame if they gather for any meeting anywhere in the state.”

IPOB regretted that uninformed and gullible citizens of Imo state will rather begin to blame the group for the killings, insisting that it has no issue with the dead monarchs, because they are custodians of the land.

It added: “IPOB is not unknown gunmen or terrorists and bandits rampaging in the North. We beg Hope Uzodinma to allow our people because we don't know if Fulani people know him and planted him in Imo State.”
