Barr. Goddy Uwazurike, Ohanaeze Ndigbo legal representative to the trial of detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has cried out over the unusual presence of security operatives at the Federal High Court Abuja, where the trial resumed this Thursday morning, October 21, 2021.
This, according to the eminent lawyer, raises doubt about the possibility of Kanu getting a fair trial.
Uwazurike toldNews Express: “I am in front of the court now. 100s of lawyers are outside. The DSS and police and NSDC have mounted a heavy security at the gate, on adjoining roads etc. The security men are insisting on screening those who will enter. The press is also outside. The intimidating atmosphere is suffocating.
“Can there be a fair trial under this situation?”
