Adapalm Nigeria Limited, owned by the Imo State Government has been revived for full production and will employ about 1,200 workers in a few weeks, an official said.
According to a statement by the stateCommissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, yesterday, the operation followed the resolution of a legal impediment mounted by ROCHE Company.
The spokesman said the state government has successfully resolved the issues that held the company from embarking on full scale production.
According to him, the Government has now entered into a tripartite agreement with ROCHE, Summit Ltd and the host community for the smooth operation of Adapalm Nig Ltd which he said has been approved by Governor Hope Uzodinma.
He said the company requires at least 1,200 workers to cope with the expected massive production.
The revamped Adapalm will in addition to the production of red oil, produce palm kernel oil, margarine, and even furniture and others, the commissioner said.
Emelumba also said the commencement of production at the company will impact positively on the State’s economy.
