Late Dora and Chike Akunyili
Mrs. Mary Ikoku, former media aide to late Minister of Information and Communications, Prof Dora Akunyili, has urged news platforms and journalists to pull down the gory video of the murder of Dr. Chike Akunyili from their website.
Dr. Chike, the husband of late Prof. Akunyili, was killed by yet to be identified gunmen in Anambra on Tuesday.
Akunyili was killed alongside his driver and escort on Tuesday on his way from Onitsha to Umuoji at Eke Nkpor.
Following the ugly incident, a gory video of how Chike was killed has gone viral.
Reacting to the video, Mrs. Ikoku urged journalists and bloggers to respect the ethics of their profession, the family and to consider late Chike’s children by removing the gory video, adding that sharing such video is disgusting.
“You cannot share such horrific images for the love of clicks,” she added.
She also advised Nigerians not to join in sharing the video.
