Igwe Chijioke Nwankwo
By PAMELA EBOH, Awka
The traditional ruler of Nawfia in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State, Igwe Chijioke Nwankwo, has said that he remains the only traditional ruler of the town.
Nwankwo, who was among the 12 traditional rulers suspended by the state governor, Chief Willie Obiano, following their trip to Abuja with Anambra-born billionaire business man, Prince Authur Eze, last year said his suspension notice expired on August 11, 2021.
The monarch in a notice made available to our Correspondent said: “Public notice is hereby given to all people parading themselves as Igwe Nawfua to desist from doing so as their action is tantamount to breach of law and public order.
“Anybody dealing with such actors are warned in their own interest to refrain from such acts as not doing so would be at their peril.
“The Anambra State Government cancelled any traditional elections in Nawfia on the 25th March, 2021. Status quo remains after cancellation of the election.
“Anybody claiming to be Igwe of Nawfia is a fraudster and will be prosecuted to the fullest end of the law.
“Some people are using the suspension to cause disharmony between Igwe Chijioke Nwankwo, Osuofia 11 in Nawfia and Anambra State Government.”
