His Majesty, Onu Ankpa, Alhaji Abdulmalik Umar, has asked youths in the local government to explore the entrepreneurial, skill development and capacity building opportunities provided by the National Productivity Centre (NPC) to become self reliant.
The royal father gave the admonition during a two-day programme to acquaint youths from the 13 wards of Ankpa local government with various skills to empower them into small scale production and businesses.
He said that “training the youths in this dispensation will ensure social equilibrium, social security and by extension guarantee useful engagements towards realising their potentials in life.”
The Onu Ankpa maintained that all over the world, skill acquisition, capacity building and entrepreneurship have become the order of the day, capable of galvanizing various ventures in the society.
He urged the youths to take advantage of the programme to the fullest while commending NPC for choosing Ankpa local government as one of beneficiaries of its programmes.
The monarch appealed to the trainees to ensure the gradual transfer of the experiences and trainings garnered from the gesture of NPC in the area, and spread to other parts of Kogi State.
