PDP stakeholders in Omala Local Government Area have commended the leadership roles of former Kogi Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, towards the conduct of the weekend ward congress in the local government.

The stakeholders from the eleven wards along with the congress committee members said the spirit of sportsmanship that ensured free, fair and acceptable congress preached by the former Governor will reposition the party to playing credible opposition roles in the area.

According to the leaders, this positive development will leveraged to bear on the yearnings for good leadership both at the local government areas and state level in the 2023 general elections.

They saluted the courage of the congress committee for adopting transparent and democratic process towards the successful local government congress.

Former Governor Idris in his reaction lauded the spirit of give-and-take that heralded the congress, not only in Omala, but across the state.

He congratulated PDP in the state for a peaceful and orderly conduct of the ward congress, stating the party's readiness to approach the 2023 election with same democratic norms.

The former Governor urged the party to sustain similar spirit in the forthcoming local government/state congress as well as the 2023 general elections.
