A pro-democracy, human and environmental rights advocacy group, Foundation For Environmental Rights Advocacy and Development (FENRAD), has called for justice over the killing of one Master Daniel Ogbonna by a staff of the Abia State Environmental Protection Agency (ASEPA).

News Expressgathered that the 17-year old victim, residing at 36 St. Michaels Road, Aba, Abia State went to dispose waste close to his residence around 5:30 p.m. and dumped the waste along the road, which attracted the wrath of staff of ASEPA.

In a statement made available toNews Express, FENRAD said it is aware of the reported killing of Master Ogbonna by one Mr. Okeugo Ugonna, a member of staff of Abia State Environmental Protection Agency (ASEPA), which occurred close to a receptacle located at Asa Road, Aba. Abia State

“He left his residence at 5:30 pm to dispose waste at the aforementioned location, where he was said to have, like others before him, disposed the waste on the road since the receptacle was filled.

“However, a staff identified as ‘Biggy’ ordered the suspect (Mr. Okeugo Ugonna) to go after Master Ogbonna only for the suspect to land fatal blow on the 17-year-old victim following which the teenager died.

“Biggy, FENRAD learnt, is on the run and yet to be apprehended by law enforcement and security agencies while the suspect, whose escape attempt was foiled, was caught by the people and handed over to the Central Police Station, Area Command, Aba.”
