NASC Chairman Ahmed Kadi Amshi

The 8th Annual National Conference organised by the National Assembly Service Commission (NASC) in conjunction with State Assemblies Service Commissions (SASCs) has started in Kaduna.
The four-day event, which holds from September 13 to 17, 2021 with the theme: “Repositioning Assembly Service Commission for Optimum Service Delivery”, is holding at Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Hall, Murtala Mohammed Square in Kaduna.
The yearly national event attracts State Chairmen and members of states Legislative Service Commission from the 36 states of Nigeria. Kaduna State Governor Mallam Nasir el-Rufai declared the event open.
In his opening remarks, NASC Chairman, Mr. Ahmed Kadi Amshi, stressed the need for total independence of the States Assembly Service Commission (SASC) for optimum performance in the various states of the country.
Amshi said many states have not only showed interest, but created an enabling environment for SASCs to debut, while commending Yobe, Kaduna and lately Kano state for their giant strides.
He stressed the need to entrench more powers beyond adminstration to SASCs, particularly its operations and functions.
The Chairman stated that the annual conference was meant to continue to strategize, re-orient states on the need to institutionalize and allow it to function optimally.
He maintained that NASC is irrevocably committed to staff welfare and development in line with the expectations of optimum service delivery.
In this same vein, to encourage and stimulate performance at the commission, promotion arrears, staff development was giving high premium.
Accordingly, the Commission is doing everything possible to create an enabling environment for staff development in all ramifications.
He said the Commission, as part of its achievements in the last few years, has secured funds for the construction of its permanent office, to curb the problems of accommodation for its staffers.
Kadi maintained that staff orientation and orientation was at the top priority of the Commission with the revised ethics of code of conduct expected of the staffers of the commission to ensure a virile performance and service delivery.
