Mourinho recalls Victor Moses to Chelsea •2 other Nigerians also handed jersey numbers

Worries about the future of Nigeria’s Victor Moses with English Premiership winners Chelsea FC have been calmed with manager Jose Mourinho opting to use the mesmerising winger this season.

Moses has been taking active part in Chelsea’s pre-season preparations in the United States where they face French champions PSG this weekend.

After having been sent on loan (to fellow Premier League clubs Liverpool and Stoke City) for two straight seasons, Moses might have been concerned about his chances of heading back and remaining in his parent club. His seasons at Liverpool and Stoke were not fantastic, and he endured an injury-ravaged campaign at ‘The Potters’ last season.

However, it seems Mourinho is ready give the Nigerian international a chance to prove himself in the Premiership under him for the first time after other wingers brought to the club, such as Colombian Juan Cuadrado and Mohammed Salah, failed to prove to be stellar hits themselves.

Moses has been handed jersey number 20 for the coming season.

Meanwhile, two other younger Nigerian players have been rewarded for their impressive displays for Chelsea’s youth team last season and have also been handed senior squad jersey numbers.

Striker Dominic Solanke and Ola Aina will wear jersey numbers 35 and 34 respectively for Chelsea in the coming season.
