EbonyiState Deputy Speaker, Hon Obasi Odefa

The Ebonyi State House of Assembly has approved the sum of N1 billion for procurement of rice for distribution during the 2021 Christmas Palliative to Ebonyi people.
The Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, Hon. Obasi Odefa, who disclosed this, said the August 31, 2021 plenary afforded the House members the opportunity to give a speedy consideration and approval of Governor Dave Umahi’s request.
He said: “Today (yesterday), Tuesday, August 31, 2021, I presided over the legislative business of the House.
“We received a letter from the Governor of Ebonyi State, requesting for approval of the sum of N1 billion for procurement of rice for distribution as December, 2021 Palliative to Ebonyians. After due deliberations by my distinguished colleagues, the House gave it a speedy approval.
“Consequently, the House has commenced a two month legislative break with effect from today, (yesterday) August 31, 2021 to November 1, 2021,” he added
