The Ebonyi State government has denied receiving any money from the Federal Government for the purpose of ranching in the state.
It said that it will neither take any money for same purpose saying that there is no available land for ranching in the state.
This is coming on the heels of a statement attributed to the Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Garba Shehu, while responding to questions on Channels Television on Wednesday night.
Shehu was quoted as saying that Ebonyi State is among the states in the federation that have received the sum of 6 billion naira each for ranching.
A statement on Thursday by the Special Assistant to the State Governor on Media and Publicity, Francis Nwaze, urged people of Ebonyi State that opt to engage in personal ranching to see such venture as a personal decision of the individual, insisting that the person must also use his/her land for the purpose.
The statement added: “This is because Ebonyi State Government has continued to maintain that there is no land for ranching in the state and it is not about reneging from the decision.”
