Ojoto Police Station in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State was on Thursday attacked by gunmen.
The gunmen numbering about 15 killed one Inspector of Police during the attack.
According to a source, police officers on duty fought back and repelled the hoodlums, preventing them from burning down the station.
He said the hoodlums came in three Sienna vehicles but zoomed off when policemen gallantly fought back.
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, said his reaction would come after his visit to the scene.
“I’m planning to visit the area. I will not respond until after visiting the place,” he said.
