Striking workers ground Aero Contractors

Nigeria’s best airlines, Aero Contractors, has suspended flight operations following the inability of its management to reach an agreement with striking workers.

Aero workers have been on strike since Wednesday, forcing the company to cancel several flights.

As the problem worsened, the management put up a statement announcing the suspension of operations until further notice. It also apologised to customers, many of whom have already booked their flights, mainline using the company’s online service.

The notice posted on Aero’s website said:

“Dear Esteemed Customer!

“Aero Management apologises for a lack of service. This is due to Industrial Action of some staff.

“Management is endeavouring to resolve the situation as quickly as possible and will further communicate on the website and through the media once this matter is resolved.

“We unreservedly apologise for the cease of operations and look forward to seeing you on board soon.”
