Anambra 2021 PDP governorship aspirant, Dr Godwin Maduka
By PAMELA EBOH, Awka
A governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr Godwin Maduka, has said that if he wins the November 6, 2021 election in Anambra State, he would use his international connections to develop the state to an enviable height.
He said that 50 percent of the resources, he will use to run the state will not be sourced from the monthly allocation and internally generated revenue but from abroad.
According to him, the two allocations put together won’t be enough for his development plans for Anambra State.
He said: “What I’m just asking is for the PDP to give me ticket. I have great plans for Anambra State. I have travelled to almost all countries of the world. I don’t need visa to enter such countries any more.
“I enjoin the party to obey the 2013 charter of equity that has guided political parties in the state in chosing their candidates in primary elections.”
Maduka, an American based medical doctor applauded the political awareness at the grassroots level, saying that sound decision would be taken during the party’s primary election scheduled for June 26.
“What I will tell you today is that 50 percent of the resources, I will use to run this state will come from Abroad. Abuja allocation and our internally generated revenue won’t be enough for my development plans for Anambra State.
“All that PDP needs to do is to obey the zoning arrangement, conduct a free, fair and credible primary on the 26th of June, I’m confident of clinching the ticket.
“PDP is a big party and my fellow aspirants know that I have what it takes to win the election for the party. I’m a billionaire in any currency.
“I’m well educated if not the most educated amongst aspirants. I’m a triple professor and a triple PhD holder. I’ve the capacity to prosecute the election and I have the connections. I believe the delegates know what I can do.”
While observing that people at the grassroots are knowledgeable and eager to get things done properly, he noted that voter education is gaining ground.
“It won’t be business as usual again,” he added.
