Biafra spiritual leader, High Prince Dr Charles Amanze
By MATTHEW KALU, Umuahia
A former university lecturer, Dr. Charles Amanze, has declared himself as the spiritual leader of Biafra land and has charged Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, to reclaim his position as the Governor of Imo State within 30 days.
Amanze, who chose the official title of High Prince and declared himself as the supreme authority in the East (comprising Upper and Lower Niger), also called on the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, to join and assist him in realising the assignment he said has been handed down to him by the ancestors, which is to build the greatest, glorious nation on earth.
The self-acclaimed spiritual leader revealed himself in an eight-page press statement titled “Imo Declaration, A Message from the gods”, he presented to a cross section of newsmen at his country home in Umunelu Nsirimo in Umuahia South Council Area of Abia State.
The High Prince noted that the “gods” want Ihedioha to complete the work for which he was elected before he was removed, stressing that the killings in Imo were sacrilegious.
“Chukwuemeka Ihedioha, you are commanded to reclaim or go back to the seat of Imo State Administrative head or Governor between now and 3o days,” Amanze said, warning that Ihedioha would face punishment for acts of “sabotage” should he fail to reclaim his seat.
He also warned Governor Hope Uzodinma that he would be called to account for “the innocent blood” being wasted in Imo State.
He praised Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, saying: “The gods have commended your performance and credibility in the discharge of your duty.” According to the High Prince, he has received a divine revelation that the gods sent Kanu to protect the East and requested the IPOB leader to join hands with him to actualise the assignment from the gods.
Amanze, who said he was the convener of Eastern Youth Network (EYN), also requested every state in the East to make available, 5,000 young men and women, between the ages of 18 and 40 years to assume responsibility in the EYN administration, which include reconciliation in the communities.
The High Prince said he has been given the brass plate staff representing the seal of his authority, explaining that the gods have sent him on a mission to build a glorious nation never seen on earth before.
“For the heavens have come themselves to bring peace once again to mankind, to usher in the new nation of the “gods” here in the East and in this order, I have come as the messenger of the “gods” to make it very well known to all and also to constitute same for the good of mankind,” he said, while soliciting for the support of all sons and daughters in accomplishing his task.
“I don’t have any warhead or missiles; neither do I have guns or armies. The only instrument for this work which God has given me is the staff, same as given to Moses,” he said.
In his proclamations, he said that Ohanaeze Ndigbo has been dissolved and a new organisation of Ndi-Eze would be put in place and in their administration, traditional rule would be separated from the traditional rulers and summoned governors to a meeting in his palace within 30 days, among others, warning that those who defy him would be punished by the gods.
