The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kaduna State Council, has dismissed a social media post with the captioned, “El-Rufa’i threatens to seize the NUJ Kaduna Secretariat Building for their support for NLC protest”.

The council on Sunday described the post as baseless and unfounded.

A statement jointly signed by the Chairman, Adamu Yusuf, and Secretary, John Femi Adi, Sunday night, also described the post as “mischievous” and only intended to disparage the reputation of the governor and to create disharmony between Kaduna State Government and the union.

“Kaduna Council of the NUJ wishes to state that the post, which went viral on different social media platforms is baseless and unfounded.

“Kaduna Council of the NUJ views the post as the handiwork of faceless mischief makers who are bent on creating tension where none exists.

“At no point in time did the council pay a courtesy call to the governor to even warrant such a position from Malam Nasir el-Rufa’i.”

The state council said it has taken steps to unearth the source of the malicious post, while calling on members to continue to remain professional in their constitutional responsibility.
