Anambra 2021 PDP governorship aspirant, Dr Godwin Maduka
By PAMELA EBOH, Awka
With the jostle for the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the November 6, 2021 governorship election in Anambra State heating up, one of the aspirants, Dr Godwin Maduka, has cocked his speed with the donation of 35 Sienna vehicles to the state chapter of the party.
News Express gathered that 10 of the vehicles were presented to the state executive of the party before the formal presentation of the remaining 25 to the party.
Maduka, a US-based medical doctor, Anaesthesiologist and surgeon who single-handedly turned his country home of Umuchukwu in Orumba North Local Government Area of the state to a wonderland many years ago, donated the buses for use of local government party secretaries in the 21 council areas.
He also doled out N100,000.00 for the fueling of each of the vehicles.
Addressing party members at the occasion, Maduka said that the PDP was the first political party he has belonged to despite being a supporter of the government before now.
He said that now is time for new Anambra State and urged the party to nominate him and give him the opportunity to transform the state.
He added: “I urge the party to be a party with conscience, inclusiveness. If I am nominated and I win, I will perform so well that Anambra will be turned into a one party state.”
The state party chairman, Chief Ndubisi Nwobu, in his speech hailed Maduka for the support he gave to the party and assured him of free, fair and transparent party primaries.
He expressed delight that quality people are daily showing interest in the party.
