The Association of Imo State Communities in Lagos known as Imo State Towns Development Association (ISTDAL), is set to storm Umunakara in Nwangele LGA Imo State.

This is in honour of High Chief Mike Onuoha, Akukwesiri I of Umunnakara, in commiseration of the burial of his father, late Rev Lawrence Iheanyichukwu Onuoha, on Friday, April 16, 2021.

High Chief Chris Ekeocha, President of ISTDAL, the umbrella body of all Imo State Town Unions and all Imolites in Diaspora resident in Lagos, said on Tuesday that the planned outing is “an honour well deserved”. He pointed that “High Chief Mike Onuoha, Akukwesiri I of Umunnakara, has made his marks and has contributed immensely to the development of our communities and beyond. He is our great son and in a time like this we should stand by him.”

Speaking in a similar vein, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of ISTDAL, Hon. Chima Davis Ukwandu (Ugo Abata Na Obi), said the association has put in place logistics for a successful event. He said: “Akukwesiri is a true son of his father, a worthy son of Nwangele, the state and the nation at large; a gift from God to humanity.

“The association decided to honour him in view of his numerous contributions to it. He is Imo Grand Patron extraordinary here in Lagos.”

Hon. Chima Davis Ukwandu, on behalf of the association pleaded with to the state government to prove adequate security in and around Nwangele LGA, considering the caliber of people coming for the burial across the nation.
