Top musician and CEO of Impakt Records, Sunny Nejii,has vowed to continue to use his God-given talent to add value to the music industry in the country.

The Lagos State-born veteran musician and indigene of Ogoja, Cross River State made the promise when he was recently appointed to the Board of the Musical Copyright Society of Nigeria (MCSN).

“I accept the appointment to sit on the board of MCSN as it is indeed a privilege to serve in this capacity. I promise to do my best to add value to MCSN in particular and the entire music industry at large,” he said.

Neji and two other musicians, Fapohunda Asha Gangali and Matthew Ohio, were appointed to MCSN board on March 18, 2021 after their nominations were received, considered and unanimously approved by the musical body's General Council.

While announcing the appointments to the press,

MCSN boss, Mayo Ayilaran, said that the appointments signify the bringing on deck of more hands to work for the building of the required structures for the music industry in order to strengthen the capacity of the collective management of copyright in Nigeria.

Ayilaran assured that with PMAN and MCSN partnership, prosperity for the Nigerian music industry and musicians is certain.

He said the three appointments take immediate effect.

On his own part, President of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN), Pretty Okafo said the appointment of the trio is a good beginning for the entire music industry.

“It is a great sign and proof that the partnership between MCSN and PMAN would turn the music industry around for the benefits of the Nigerian musicians,” said Okafor.
