Breaking: Military Command and Control Centre begins operation in Maiduguri, set to wipe out Boko Haram

The Nigerian Military High Command has acted swiftly to implement President Muhammadu Buhari’s directive to move the Military Command Centre from the country’s capital, Abuja, to Maiduguri, capital of Borno State in the troubled North-East, and remain there until Boko Haram is completely crushed.

Buhari, a war veteran and retired Army General, had given the directive in his inaugural address on May 29. Last Tuesday, June 2, he met with the Service Chiefs for a full briefing and to map out strategies for the implementation of his directive.

“The Service Chiefs have promptly carried out the directive of the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces,” a reliable military source told News Express this morning. “The Military Command and Control Centre has been established in Maiduguri and will begin operation today,” the source added.

Contacted for comments, Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani K. Usman, told News Express that the military would use normal channels to inform the nation when the Military Command Centre begins work in Maiduguri.
