It was a tale a death and sorrow as bomb explosions rocked the capital cities of Borno and Adamawa states in Nigeria’s troubled North-East this night.
In Maiduguri, capital of Borno State, “a suicide bomber detonated his Improvised Explosive Devices near a military check point at Shagari Low cost along Maiduguri-Monguno road, killing four people with several others injured,” a Vanguard news flash said.
Shagari low cost is an outskirt of Maiduguri metropolis and about 200 metres from the 7 Division, HQ, and Nigerian Army.
Another report spoke of an explosion that rocked a major market in Yola, capital of Adamawa State, killing at least 10 people in the suspected suicide attack. An eyewitness, said the incident happened at 7:30 p.m. at the Jimeta Main Market.
Both attacks are believed to have been perpetrated by Boko Haram insurgents, who have resorted to their old guerrilla tactics after being flushed out of seized communities by the military.
