Veteran actor and broadcaster, Pete Edochie
One of Africa’s most talented actors, Pete Edochie, turned 74 on Sunday, March 7, 2021.
The seasoned administrator and broadcaster who came into prominence in the 1980s when he played the lead role of Okonkwo in an NTA adaptation of Chinua Achebe’s all-time best-selling novel,Things Fall Apart, chose to celebrate his birthday this year in a unique way.
In a video clip posted by his equally actor son, Yul Edochie on his Instagram page, he was seen dancing ZANKU dance created by Zlatan Ibile.
The bearded actor from Anambra State was in the middle of two young men on the dance floor, holding his traditional walking stick with his title red cap on his head, and the trio displayed a cheorographed ZANKU dance to a booming dancehall music at the background.
As Yul put it:
“Today is all yours, Daddy @peteedochie. Fire on!
Ebubedike onye highway.”
And Ebubedike was actually firing on with his legs.
Here is wishing the internationally acclaimed actor and friend of the house, a belated happy birthday and many happy returns.
