Atiku Care Foundation chiefs at the office relocation ceremony
The national office of the Atiku Care Foundation (ACF) has been relocated to a new base in Abuja.
Located in Area 2, Garki District of the Federal Capital Territory, the new office, which offers best facilities and cosy environment, will house key administrative officials of the ACF.
Speaking during the event on Wednesday, February 10, the visibly elated Director-General of the ACF, Amb. Aliyu Bin Abbas, expressed appreciation to the Grand Patron of the organization, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, for his trust in leading the ACF since inception.
“We cannot thank His Excellency enough for believing in what we do. Without him, we wouldn’t even been in existence. That we have gone this far is due to his direct confidence in the ACF to touch lives.
“Unknown to many, this platform is not a political base, and we have tried in our little way to function strictly in line with the mandate of the Atiku Care Foundation and in adherence to the directive of our Grand Patron to operate outside of political undertone.”
He said relocating to the new office would be an enabler to the smooth running of the ACF activities without political exposure or pressures.
“Coming here would allow that instruction to gain more impetus as you can see, here is all about humanitarian activities and nothing more,” Abbas stated.
He paid glowing tribute to the office donor, his Senior Special Adviser on Human Relations and International Affairs, Collins Onyeaji, for his kind heartedness towards releasing the office for the use of the Foundation.
Special Guest, Dr. Nat Yaduwa, commended Abbas for identifying dependable team that has assisted him to deliver on the mandate of the organisation so far, while praising Onyeaji for the selfless donation to the philanthropic cause.
“I wonder how you people get things done. With what you have done and these you still do, the hope and desire of Alhaji Atiku to breed a fresh generation of compassionate younger philanthropists and leaders are beginning to manifest,” Yaduwa noted.
In the same vein, another aide of the ex-VP, Mr. Oladimeji Fabiyi, lauded the robust leadership being provided by Amb. Abbas and charged him to continue replicating the vision of Waziri Adamawa in identifying humanitarian needs of the poor, vulnerable and needy and do everything within the ability of the organisation in meeting them.
“There is no way one can be an Atiku mentee and not key into his compassion on humanity and service. You and your team are in the right path and I can assure that His Excellency is glad with innovations like this. Please count on our support each time you need one,” Fabiyi stated.
The Atiku Care Foundation is currently undergoing some structural rejigging towards streamlining its personnel and mandate to fit strictly as apolitical non-governmental body focusing on the philanthropic initiatives of the former Vice President.
In his remarks, the donor, Mr. Onyeaji noted that the motivation to donate the facility aligns with his desire to partner with responsible not-for-profit organisation that has the capacity to engage people at the grassroots for philanthropic impacts like the Atiku Care Foundation.
He however disclosed that the office is open to ACF officials at all time as it will be welcoming to fresh ideas and innovations which are necessary to give needed identity and energy to an organisation like the ACF.
Onyeaji explained that measures were being instituted to retool the Secretariat for efficient accounting process as well as resourceful management aimed at impacts delivery alongside required transparency.
Other notable officials present at the event include the ACF's National Director, Administration and Advocacy, Ms Linda Obi and Acting National Director, Media and Publicity, Mr. Remi Adebayo.
