Bishop Olafimihan Adekoya, Lagos Chairman, Christian Council of Nigeria CCN
As the mood for Valentine is on, Bishop Olafimihan Adekoya, Lagos Chairman, Christian Council of Nigeria (CCN) has asked individuals to demonstrate the fear of God and stay away from actions capable of truncating their lives.
Olafimihan, who cautioned youths against copulation outside marriage, said there was more to life than ephemeral pleasures.
“True love is not selfish or self-centered therefore let all things be done to the glory of God. The youth should be careful to express their love in terms of sexual relationship so as to avoid bringing regret to themselves.
“Sexual relationship will not express your love rather it express your lust. Which is sin.Hence sexual relationship outside marriage should be discouraged totally,” the Archbishop Elect, Church of The Lord, shared with INDEPENDENT.
Meanwhile at the opening of this year’s Lagos East Diocese conference of the Church on Saturday, Adekoya advised Christians to be light bearers.
His words:
“When your life cannot convict the people around you then your light has lost its purpose. Therefore, I call on all to awake from their slumber and do the necessary by bringing the lost back to the Lord and it shall be well with you.”
