IGP assures of crime-free hand-over on May 29

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Solomon E. Arase, yesterday announced a massive deployment of police resources to ensure a successful transition programme on Friday, May 29.

He also re-echoed his administration’s determination to make Nigeria a safe haven where all well- meaning residents can express their full potentials for the nation’s advancement.

He said this during a meeting with the top brass of the Nigeria Police.

The IGP used the occasion to announce successes recorded in the operations recently launched to wipe out cultism and kidnapping in Edo, Ekiti and Ondo states and vowed to technically amputate criminally minded persons wherever and whenever they operate within the country. He announced the arrest of kidnapping kingpins in Edo and Ekiti states with a resolve to charge the suspects to court as soon as the courts resume.
