Senator Bala Ibn Na’Allah representing Kebbi South Senatorial Constituency on Saturday February 6 commissioned and handed over a grade one Primary Health Care (PHC) facility at Kanya, in Danko-Wasagu Local Government to the Kebbi State Government.
The two-floor building, comprising eight wards of out-patient, maternity and pediatric sections, was handed over to the government after its commissioning by Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, the State Governor, represented by the Commissioner of Health, Alhaji Mohammed Jafaru, accompanied by Dr Abubakar Attahiru Kaoje, Executive Secretary, Primary Health Care Development Agency (PHCDA) and other senior officials of the State Ministry of Health.
Governor Bagudu described the facility, equipped with modern hospital beds, two incubators, birth delivery suite, medical laboratory, a new ambulance and vast accommodation for personnel; as world class standard which will not only improve on the healthcare of people of Danko-Wasagu local government and Zuru Emirate alone, but the entire people of Kebbi State.
Bagudu said provision of personnel accommodation by Senator Na'Allah, is a critical intervention, which will add value to the healthcare system by making healthcare providers more comfortable and settled to [perform their duties and ultimately translate into good outcome.
“We sincerely appreciate that,” Governor Bagudu said.
Senator Na’Allah, while handing over the keys of the two-flat personnel accommodation to the governor, promised that in the second phase of the project to be completed within the next two months, he will deliver an additional two-flat personnel accommodation unit and complete the perimeter fencing of the facility.
Senator Na’Allah said very soon other health facility projects such as PHC, Garin Baka, Ngaski LGA, PHC Giron Masa, Shanga LGA and PHC Dankolo, Sakaba LGA will soon be commissioned and also handed over to the state government.
Earlier, Senator Na’Allah handed over completed two blocks of six classrooms each, one block of four classrooms, a Headmaster's office and a store in Primary School, Bedi, Zuru Local Government.
At the commissioning ceremony, performed by Major-General Sani Sami (rtd), Gomo II, the Emir of Zuru, Senator Na’Allah was given an Appreciation Award by Bedi Community Development Association in recognition of his support for education in the community.
In his remarks, the Emir hailed the senator for his quality representation, dedication and outstanding performance in providing constituency intervention projects especially in the areas of education, health, security, water, electricity, job opportunities, youth and women empowerment and sundry developmental areas to the people of Kebbi South Senatorial Zone.
He prayed to Allah to grant the senator all his future endeavours.
Chairman of Zuru LGC Kabiru Rafi and his vice, Rabiu Garba Bedi, representative of chairman Danko/Wasagu LGC, acting State APC Deputy Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Kana, acting APC chairman Zuru LGC, Abubakar Aliyu, Alhaji Garba Dandunkulu Wasaga, the Chief of Wasagu Chiefdom, Alh Mukhtar Musa Wasagu who was represented by Chief of Sakaba Chief, Alh Musa Ladan Sakaba, District Head of Kanya Alh. Isah D. Hassan were among dignitaries who attended the ceremony.
