Ondo State Security Network Agency, otherwise known as Amotekun, on Sunday arrested two security guards manning a cemetery located at Surulere area of Ondo town.
Sources revealed that one of the security guards of the cemetery owned by an old generation church simply identified as Alhaji was allegedly arrested with a sac containing a human head.
It was later discovered that the human head was severed from a dead body exhumed from a grave at the cemetery.
Revealing how the incident happened, a source alleged that: “Very early today (Sunday) somebody went to defecate in a bush beside the cemetery and he saw Alhaji with a sledge hammer who broke one of the tombs in the cemetery. After some minutes, he came out with a bag.
“So, the person that saw him raised the alarm and we rushed to the scene. When we checked the bag Alhaji carried, we saw a human head in the bag.
“When we went round the cemetery, we discovered that about 44 tombs have no dead bodies in them, they have been exhumed by ritualists. So, we have handed them over to the Amotekun corps.”
State Commander of Amotekun, Chief Adetunji Adeleye, who confirmed the incident, disclosed that the suspects were rescued when the residents in the area were about lynching them.
Though he said no human head was found on the suspects at the point of arresting them. (The Independent)
