Suspected kidnappers over the weekend struck again along the ever busy Amawbia-Enugwu-Agidi Igbariam road in Anambra State and abducted a Cameroun-based businessman.
A couple and their child had earlier been abducted on December 23, 2020 along the same road that leads to Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU).
The man, whose name was given as Mr. Clement Uzoghelu, an indigene of Nawgu in Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra State, was said to be returning from a private visit when he was abducted.
Information has it that he was kidnapped at about 6pm at the swampy bad portion of the road, the same spot where the family of three were kidnapped.
A lecturer with COUU was earlier last year abducted on the same spot along the Amawbia-Enugwu-Agidi-Igbariam road in Njikoka council area.
That incident took place about two poles away from the spot where the last one happened.
Also, a Rev Father barely escaped when he sensed danger while riding along the road.
The various incidences of kidnap had created fear among motorists as they now avoid plying the road for fear of being kidnapped.
When contacted for his reaction, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Haruna Mohammed, said he was yet to be officially informed about the incident.
