Former senior national team captain Segun Odegbami has paid glowing tribute to his predecessor, Christian Chukwu, on the occasion of his 70th birthday on Monday, unfolding plans to celebrate him tomorrow on his popular network TV programme, Sports Parliament.

Dismissing rumours of Chukwu’s purported death, ‘Mathematical’ Odegbami wrote: “My Captain, brother and friend, the greatest ‘Chairman’ in the world, the Captain of Captains, oyim, ‘Chairman’ Christian Chukwu, turned 70 yesterday.

“But the Grace of our Creator he is extremely happy, very healthy, very well and very much ALIVE.

“We shall be celebrating one of the greatest and most respected heroes of Nigerian football on the Sports Parliament this Thursday night.”
