Public relations and talent management company, Maxtreme Inc. has been committed over the years to educating artistes and creatives in the music industry with practical knowledge through Music Business Hangouts organised in Abuja, Port Harcourt, Uyo, Calabar and seven other cities in Nigeria.
The Music Business Hangout organised quarterly is a platform where real life conversations about the state of the music business in Nigeria and Africa are discussed by professionals in the industry.
The aim of the Music Business Hangout is to educate artistes, talent managers, A&R and music executives on practical ways to be successful in the music sub sector.
This year’s edition of the Music Business Hangout was delayed because of the Covid-19 pandemic ravaging the world and it was held in Uyo organised by Godwin Tom, a resourceful and ingenious African talent manager and music business executive in partnership with Maxtreme Inc.
Godwin Tom is a thought leader and a game changer in African music business, with a decade experience in managing African A-list artistes/talents and also training the next generation of African music business executives and talent managers through his Talent Managers/Music Business Bootcamps.
And in attendance for the 2020 edition of the Music Business Hangout were established and emerging artistes in Akwa Ibom State.
The previous editions of the Music Business Hangouts had guests such as Ejino Valentine, Head of Music, MTV Base Africa; Titi Adesanya – Empire Africa and several seasoned On Air Personalities (OAP) from reputable Nigerian radio stations.
The sessions have had over 1300 attendees in the past one year and there are a lot of testimonies indicating how the sessions helped.
Moving forward, Maxtreme Inc. says it is planning to expand the Music Business Hangouts outside Nigeria to African cities like Zambia, Ghana, Kenya and also the UK.
