Niger Bridge
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Anambra State has restated its commitment to ensuring that no commuter spends the night on the Niger Bridge in Onitsha during the Yuletide.
Sector CommanderAndrew Kumapayi gave the assurance on Tuesday during the opening of Ember Month Safety Campaign at Head Bridge, Onitsha.
Kumapayi said over 1,390 officers, comprising 720 staff and 670 special marshals, have been deployed to ensure free flow of traffic on major highways during and after the season.
He said: “We’re here to kick off the campaign. All relevant agencies are collaborating with the FRSC to ensure a safe motoring environment this season.
We’re deploying about 720 staff and 670 special marshals for the special exercise. There will also be other personnel at designated locations for robust traffic control…”(The Nation)
