Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Campaign Organisation is in the eye of storm with a revelation allegedly indicting it of refusing to pay its staff salaries after the party had lost the Presidential elections.
News Express gathered that the orgnisation had recruited some vibrant youths at its Social Media Room in Legacy House preparatory to the elections.
The enthusiastic youths were engaged to project the activities of the President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration on the social media via Facebook, Twitter, Google plus e.t.c
They worked on 24-hour shift for the period of six week due to the reschedule of the election from February 14th to March 28th.
A source disclosed that the Assistant Director in Charge of Social Media, one Akin Oyegoke paid each of them N75, 000 in February, after which some of them were disengaged and subsequently paid another N75, 000 before March 28.
The source added that 15 staff were retained and worked till the day of the election.
However, soon after the results were announced and the PDP was defeated by the All Progressives Congrss (APC), “Oyegoke, came to the office and directed us to the account department for our payment.”
“On getting to the account department under the leadership of Hajia Nenadi Esther Usman, she told us that we don’t have any business with her office that we should get back to the Assistant Director in Charge of Social Media, Mr. Akin Oyegoke. On getting back to Mr. Akin Oyegoke, he directed us back to the Finance department!
“As at today, we that were retained have not received anything apart from the N75,000 that was paid to us in February.
“We are, therefore, using your media to appeal to the PDP to help look into our case as all avenues to reach those concerned proved abortive,” the source said.
