Buhari: Man leaves Kaduna for Lagos on bicycle to thank Yorubas

One Mohammed Kabiru Jafaru, 35, a supporter of President-elect Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday embarked on a journey from Kaduna State to Lagos to thank the Yorubas for supporting Buhari.

Mohammed, a resident of Hayin Malam Bello, in Rigasa district of Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna state, commenced his journey to Lagos State at exactly 6:35 a.m. at the palace of Sarkin Hayin Malam Bello, Alhaji Kabiru Isa Gangarida.

Mohammed, in an interview with journalists, said he decided to embark on the journey to Lagos to thank Yoruba people, especially for their immense support and contributions that led to the victory of General Muhammadu Buhari.

“My intention to embark on the journey came to my mind after analyzing the votes casted for Buhari by the Yoruba people. I discussed my intention with my immediate family and friends who encouraged me to commence the journey,” he said.

Mohammed, a father of four children and who lives at Goro road in Hayin Malam Bello, said he had never been to Lagos before, adding that only God knows how many days he would spend on the road.

“I don’t have any fear because I believe in God that nothing will happened to me on the road and all I want is prayers so that I will arrive Lagos safely,” he added.

A chieftain of Buhari’s party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the state, Hon. Kailani Mohammed, disclosed that Mohammed Kabiru will be received by the Vice President-elect, Professor Yomi Osinbajo, and other prominent members of the APC in Lagos upon his arrival.

“When they heard Mohammed Kabiru’s intention on the journey theyexpressed their delight and wished him all the best,” he said.

Also speaking at the occasion, the Sarkin Hayin Malam Bello Alhaji Kabiru Isa Gangarida, expressed happiness with Mohammed Kabiru’s intention and that the people of the area are very proud of him.
