The Anambra State Police Command has commenced a robust patrol for effective crime prevention in the state.
This is coming on the heels of a threat analysis and intelligence gathering embarked upon by the state Police Command in order to stem the tide of crime in the state.
According to a statement on Sunday by the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Haruna Mohammed, the exercise will include aggressive deployment of Police operatives, aerial surveillance, patrols and traffic control.
He explained that the exercise is aimed at ensuring adequate protection and security especially during the ember period for Anambra people.
Mohammed added that “the Command has taken cognisance of black spots such as Nkpor roundabout, Upper Iweka Axis, Idemili, Owerri road, Onitsha, Enugu-Agidi road, Nnobi junction, Ifite Okpuno and other flashpoints.
“Consequently, the Commissioner of Police, CP John Abang, reassures the Public that the law enforcement agencies will continue to collaborate and ensure safety and security of all citizens before, during and after the Christmas and new year celebrations.”
