There was tension in some parts of Ikorodu, Lagos State, on Friday as hoodlums operated freely for hours.

Ugly closing moments of the recent #EndSARS protests were rekindled as the hoodlums, brandishing several dangerous weapons, attacked motorists, stores and road users on Haruna, Agric, Idi Iroko, Ogolonto and Majidun Ikorodu.

The over 20 hoodlums snatched cash, phones and other valuable items at different points.

They had a field day chasing particularly women heading to markets into different streets with policemen conspicuously absent.

At least two women and a man attacked confirmed losing money and phones between Agric and Ogolonto bus stops.

Indeed a middle aged man who simply identified by self as Tinaye toldNews Expressthat he was chased from Idiroko to Majidun by four hoodlums that eventually took N45,000 from him.

Amidst tears he said: “The thieves took N45,000 from me. The money is meant for burial of my late mother. I was taking it to the bank since we postponed the earlier burial date because of protests. Perhaps the police could have prevented them as we ran such long distance but no police anywhere.”
