The suspect, Sergeant Eze Aiwansone
The Lagos State Police Command said it has arrested the cop who allegedly shot his ex-lover, Joy Eze, at Opebi, Ikeja.
The suspect, Sergeant Eze Aiwansone, attached to the Special Protection Unit (SPU) Base 16, Ikeja, was alleged to have shot the victim on October 8 after inviting her on a date.
Aiwansone, who fled after the alleged crime, was arrested by his elder brother, an Inspector of Police and handed over to the command, spokesman Olumuyiwa Adejobi said in a statement Thursday evening.
“The State CID Panti has taken over the case on the instruction of the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, for further investigation.
