DJ Switch real name Obianuju Catherine Udeh
Some frontline Nollywood stars have sent their solidarity messages to the embattled disc jockey, songwriter and musician, Obianuju Catherine Udeh, professionally known as DJ Switch.
The Nollywood stars sent the messages in an Instagram post by popular actress Kate Henshaw on Monday following a sustained attack on the Udi, Enugu State-born Geology graduate from the University of Port Harcourt turned professional DJ.
DJ Switch who emerged as the winner of the first edition of The Glo X Factor in 2013 at the age of 29, is being attacked from some quarters following her exposure of the infamous Lekki toll gate shootings of Tuesday, October 20.
The celebrity DJ, amid tears and shivering in a video clip, had on Friday broke her silence on the shooting of unarmed protesters at the Lekki Toll Plaza, narrating how soldiers allegedly killed at least 15 people and took away the corpses.
While the authorities are denying the killings, many fear for the safety of DJ Switch who was first rumoured to have died in the Lekki shootings, until she debunked the rumour of her death the next day.
In a move to show solidarity, Kate Henshaw said in her message directed to DJ Switch:
“I believe you. You are my heroine and no lie from the pit of hell will ever change that. Let them gather together (sic) but they will surely be confounded.”
Commenting on the post, popular actress and television presenter Tracia Eseigbe said: “Amen. I believe you too my dear. Other celebrities left but you remained to carry this burden @djswtch. You are indeed a heroine. May God bless you exceedingly. @mrnollywoodng volunteered to clean the (Lekki) toll gate after the incident, and he found a dead body by the Lekky pedestrian, is that also a photoshop? Thank God families of the dead have started voicing out.”
In his own comment, veteran actor Ejike Asiegbu said: “I am more than proud of her heroics.”
Star actress Ini Edo said: “Ameeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen!” just as dazzling roles interpreter, Ufuoma McDermott said: “The truth!”
In her own reaction, screen goddess, Rita Dominic sent love and embrace stickers while veteran actress Ada Obi said: “I believe you with my full chest”.
