Twelve people have been confirmed dead while scores critically injured in a fresh attack by unknown gunmen in two separate attacks of Friday and Saturday in Kidandan and Kadai village in Giwa local government area of Kaduna State.
Survivors say the attackers who invaded the area in numbers besieged the villages on Friday afternoon, left three dead and four others wounded.
“The attacks continued on Saturday night where the gunmen killed nine other persons at Kadai village and left four others in critical condition, making total of 12 innocent people killed,” Ahmed Kidandan, a journalist and survivor, recounted.
Spokesperson of Kaduna State Police Command Muhammad Jalige confirmed the incident to journalists.
The District Head of Fatika and Kaigaman Zazzau, Alhaji Nuhu Lawal Umar, appealed to the government to deploy additional security personnel to safeguard the lives and property of people in the area.
