IGP Mohammed Adamu
A human rights organisation, the Centre for Human Rights and Social Justice (CHRSJ), has reported the police officers attached to the Bode Thomas Police Station in Lagos to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), the Police Service Commission (PSC) and other authorities over alleged kidnapping, illegal arrest, extortion and other illegal activities.
It also called on the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hakeem Odumosu, to beam his searchlight on the Meiran Police Station where one Saheed Asimiyu was allegedly kidnapped in June this year over trumped-up charges by a female Police Officer and her accomplices.
CHRSG also berated the Ojodu Police Station, where one Inspector Monday and his team allegedly failed to properly investigate an attack on one Ademola Azeez.
It was against this backdrop that the group wrote a strongly-worded Petition Letter dated June 8, 2020 signed by its Executive Chairman, Comrade Adeniyi Alimi Sulaiman, forwarded to the IGP Mohammed Adamu and Chairman of the PSC, Musliu Smith. The Petition Letter was also copied the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 2 and Lagos State Commissioner of Police, calling for proper investigation of the alleged officers.
