Suspected child rapist Ifeanyi Atogu

Police operatives attached to 3-3 Division has arrested one Ifeanyi Atogu, 46, for allegedly defiling his friend’s seven-year-old daughter.
News Expresslearnt that the suspect, an indigene of Ofenta in Nsugbe, Anambra East Local Government Area of Anambra State, lured the victim, who is deaf and dumb, and had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.
According to the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Haruna Mohammed, the while confessing to the crime, blamed the devil for influencing and manipulating him.
He said: “Police detectives took the victim to the hospital for medical Examination where penetration was confirmed by the medical doctor.
“Meanwhile, the suspect has voluntarily confessed and attributes his act to devil’s influence and manipulations.
“Case would be transferred to the State criminal investigation department for discreet investigation as directed by the Commissioner of Police CP John B. Abang, after which suspect will be charged to court for prosecution.”
