Late Emir of Zazzau, Dr Shehu Idris

The 18th Fulani Emir of Zazzau (Zaria), Dr. Shehu Idris, is dead. He died at the age of 84.
The Wazirin Zazzau, Alh Ibrahim Aliyu, who confirmed the development on Sunday, said he died at 44 Army Reference Hospital, Kaduna, after a protracted illness.
The late Dr. Idris was the Chairman of Zazzau Emirate Council and Kaduna State Emirate Council.
He ascended the throne on February 8, 1975 following the demise of Alhaji Muhammadu Aminu, the 17th Emir of Zazzau.
The late emir had celebrated 45 years on the throne on the February 8, 2020.
He will be buried by 5pm today according to Islamic rites.
Among early mourners were Senator Bala Ibn NaAllah representing Kebbi South.
The Senator prayed to Allah to grant the late emir aljanna firdausi; the family, Zazzau emirate and the entire people of Zazzau emirate and the entire Northern Traditional Rulers Council the fortitude to bare the loss.
