The suspects paraded in Bauchi
The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested four suspected rapists for gang raping two young girls in Sabon Kaura village Inkil, on the outskirts Bauchi metropolis.
The Command Public Relation Officer DSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakili disclosed this in a statement Saturday in Bauchi said, 05/09/2020 one Musa Bala of Karofin Madaki Bauchi came to ‘A’ Division and reported that on the same date two of his daughter’s names witheld went to Sabon Kaura village Inkil they were reported raped by four people.
He explained that Nazif Mohammed, Ukacha Abubakar, Sharif Abubakar, and Ibrahim Umar, all of Sabon Kaura village Inkil were arrested in connection to the case. Investigation is in progress after which suspects will be charged to court for prosecution as soon as possible.
The statement said, “On receipt of the report team of Policemen was drafted to the scene victims was rushed to General Hospital Bauchi for Medical Examination, suspect was arrested when interrogation he confessed to the crime and attested to be a sodomy. Investigation is on progress after which suspect will be charge to court for prosecution.”
“One Abubakar Mustaphaof Mararraban Liman Katagum came to Divisional Headquarters Liman Katagum and reported that on the same date 18 years munkaila Ladan of Kutaru village raped 8- years daughter of one Abubakar Mustapha named Hadiza (not real name) ‘of same address at outskirt of Mararraban Liman Katagum. On receipt of the report team of detectives were drafted to the scene victim was rushed to Hospital for medical examination. Suspect was arrested and confessed to the crime.”
Meanwhile, the Command also arrested five staff of Local Government Pension Board for fraudulently inserting the names of seven persons receiving pension in the state.
The statement explained that the suspects were arrested after a complaint from the office of Executive Governor Bauchi State signed by Musa Mohammed Kirfi, PhD. PPS to The Executive Governor of Bauchi State for discrete investigation, adding that Mohammed B. Mohammed, Editor of the board, Musa Bappayo computer operator of the board, Samaila Musa, Yasir Sulaiman and Garba Bala all staff of Local Government Pension Board.
When interrogated they confessed to have inserted about seven (7) illegal beneficiaries’ names into the pensions records fraudulently,
“Mohammed Namamu, Abubakar Muazuwere the candidates/Beneficiaries introduced by Samaila Musa of Federal Low-cost whom inserted them N65,000 andN85,000 per month for the period of 18 month which accumulated to N2.700,000. Yasir Sulaiman 37 years of bayan airport has two candidates, whom received N320,000 per month for the period of 23 month which accumulated toN7,360,000.”
“Garba Bala aged 39years of Tirwun Bauchi whom introduced two candidate and receiving N300,000 per month for 36 months which accumulated to N10,800,000. Umar Mohammed Madara aged 49years of Ibrahim Bako Bauchi has one candidate who receives N120,000 per month for the period of 6 month which accumulated to N720,000,” the statement said.
The statement noted that all suspects mentioned above have been arrested investigation is in progress, effort is on top gear to arrest the other fleeing suspects. (Daily Trust)
