Vice Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 elections, Mr. Peter Obi, has praised Nigerian-born Ms Pearlena Igbokwe who was recently promoted to Chairman, Universal Studio Group, a division of NBCUniversal, one of the world’s leading media and entertainment companies.

In a congratulatory message made available to the press, Obi expressed delight at what he described as Igbokwe’s major strides and new leadership position, which he said was a thing of great joy and source of pride to the country.

Noting that Igbokwe was the first black woman to head Universal Televion, Obi said her story of success served to inspire the youth, especially females, in diaspora, Africa and Nigeria, adding that the youth who were gifted in Arts and Creativity could look up to her and aim for the best.

“I congratulate you on your major strides and new leadership position as the Chairman, Universal Studio Group. We are proud of you. Your journey in the industry is exemplary to the youth in diaspora, Africa and Nigeria,” Obi’s message reads in part.

He further expressed hope in Igbokwe’s ability to function effectively in her new position, while reminding her that her promotion, which obviously came as a result of hard work, was a call for more work, commitment and dedication. Obi wished her success in her future endeavors.
